Astronics offers its EmPower outlet solutions in a variety of configurations – 110VAC/USB and USB only – designed specifically for use in flight decks. For years, pilots have been forced to charge their devices in galleys or other locations, often taking them from flight to flight without having enough time to recharge between trips. This can be frustrating, especially when you need real-time information to aid your flight.

Enter electronic flight bags (EFBs), which host a variety of real-time applications that assist pilots during flight and with airport approaches, gate details, and other important information. These devices, usually iPads, are becoming increasingly popular as pilots' go-to tool for staying connected in the skies. However, using these devices can quickly drain batteries, making it essential to keep them charged.

That's where Astronics' power outlets come in. By installing these outlets in the flight deck, pilots can charge their EFBs and other devices on the go, ensuring they have access to the information they need when they need it most. Astronics has worked with multiple airlines recently to retrofit existing aircraft by installing and certifying power outlets for pilot use in the flight deck.
